Fertilization Guidelines for Cashew Trees!

Cashew trees are perennial crops that require appropriate fertilizers at the correct time and in the correct amounts to maximize yield. Below are the recommended fertilization guidelines based on the age of the tree:

For One-Year-Old Trees:

• Organic Manure: 10 kg
• Urea: 150 g
• Super Phosphate: 250 g
• Potash: 100 g

For Two-Year-Old Trees:

• Organic Manure: 20 kg
• Urea: 300 g
• Super Phosphate: 500 g
• Potash: 200 g

For Three-Year-Old Trees:

• Organic Manure: 30 kg
• Urea: 450 g
• Super Phosphate: 750 g
• Potash: 300 g

For Four-Year-Old Trees:

• Organic Manure: 40 kg
• Urea: 600 g
• Super Phosphate: 1,000 g
• Potash: 400 g

For Trees Five Years and Older:

• Organic Manure: 50 kg
• Urea: 1,100 g
• Super Phosphate: 1,250 g
• Potash: 500 g

Application Instructions:

1. Split Application: The fertilizers should be divided into two equal parts and applied during the rainy season.
2. Direct Chemical Fertilizers: Use direct chemical fertilizers for better results.
   • For nitrogen, use urea.
   • For phosphorus, use super phosphate or rock phosphate.
   • For potassium, use potash.
3. Foliar Spray: Dissolve 19:19:19 water-soluble fertilizer in water at a concentration of 0.1% and spray on the leaves. This will enhance leaf and branch growth.
4. During Flowering:
   • Apply 1% mono ammonium phosphate (MAP) mixed with 0.1% boron during the flowering period (December-January).
5. During Fruit Setting:
   • Spray a 3% Panchagavya solution (30 ml Panchagavya per liter of water) during the fruit setting period (January-February) to improve fruit set and yield.
