Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced the launch of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan on October 3rd. The campaign will run until October 18th and aims to strengthen direct engagement between farmers and agricultural scientists.
Speaking during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, the Minister said that under this initiative, thousands of agricultural scientists and officials from the Agriculture Department will visit villages across the country. They will interact with farmers, share knowledge, and spread awareness about modern technologies and scientific farming practices to enhance food production.
Highlighting the government’s focus, Mr. Chouhan stressed that the campaign is designed to encourage farmers to adopt sustainable and scientific methods of cultivation, thereby ensuring long-term agricultural growth.
He also noted the success of the previous campaign held in May this year, where more than 1.33 crore farmers benefited from direct interactions with experts.
